HistoryUmeå Teaterförening is a non-profit theatre association, founded in 1934 as one of the first of many to come in Sweden. Today there are about 220 similar associations all over the country, Umeå is the largest one with All theatre associations derives from the foundation of Riksteatern. Riksteatern is a national movement with the main goal to decentralise cultural venues from the larger cities, to the rest of the country. Today Riksteatern is the most visited theatre in the country, consistently touring and bringing theatre to the smallest of villages. About the program

MembershipA membership in Umeå Teaterförening is also a membership in Riksteatern. It gives you a discount on tickets for performances all over Sweden. At the start of every season, it also gives you a possibility to order and buy tickets in advance, before everyone else. A membership also gives you the right to have a say in issues of repertoar and a right to vote at the annual members meeting of the association.
